Be warned, it's about 12:30am and I'm pumped up on holiday cheer and too much coffee. It's the only time available for gift wrapping without my little tattler around to reveal secrets.
First and most importantly: Nathan said Mom-mom today...about a thousand times! Matt is jealous- he says that in Greek mom-mom actually means daddy. Yeah right! Timothy said Dad for weeks before ever saying mom so now we are even.
Secondly: Nathan now has 3 teeth and is using a push walker to get around- and he said Mom-mom today! He's growing up so fast!
Okay. Now for what I came here to blab about....
Only one more week until Christmas!
I'm usually super-excited and childish about Christmas but I think I have officially been bested by my little companion Timothy. We took him to the Village of Lights tonight (a drive through Christmas display in the park) and he loved it. All he talks about is Christmas and Christmas trees, and best of all presents. Every day he asks when he is going to get his "present of train tracks with buttons". I keep telling him that when he wakes up in the morning, if there are presents waiting for him under the tree and Grandma is here then it's Christmas.
It reminded me of this Curious George movie we all watched the other night, George kept waking up every day declaring it to be Christmas. Watch it here- A Very Monkey Christmas and close the adds quickly, just fyi.
I'm going to make a birthday cake for Jesus this year to be sure that he remembers that there is a lot more to Christmas than presents. I'm thinking about making it an annual tradition.
My mom, dad (step-dad), and 3 of my million sisters are coming for Christmas. I only have 6 sisters, but it seems like a million sometimes. I'm excited and a little worried, about my sisters coming, mainly because I have no idea what to say or do.
It has been almost 4 years since I moved to AZ....a lot can change in 4 years, especially for teenage girls. When I left they were young girls gearing up for jr. high and high school. Now they're a Freshman, Junior, and Senior!!! There is a huge difference between a 12 year old and a 16 year old....they're young women...they're into lip gloss and boys now! I wonder if this is how my mom feels. lol
I know it will be fun, even if it's only for 2 days... I'm sure we can make some memories. Oh, and this will be the first time Robert, Jasmine, Hallie, and Hannah have ever met Nathan. I totally forgot until today.
On the bright side, we finally bought and wrapped our absolute last gift. It took a while to figure out what to get for a certain family member, but it finally came to us at dinner tonight. I love it when Matt and I both figure out the perfect solution to a problem and it's actually the same solution.
I'll try and get some pictures up here soon for all of ya who can't share the holidays with us.
