Christmas Eve

It's Christmas Eve and I think we've completed everything on our list of things to be done! We went to The Valley of Lights display last night after church and did our final craft today.

I cut out some gingerbread boys from an old cracker box and glued one of those free magnets local pediatricians are always sending to the back. Then we decorated them with glitter and buttons

I even made a star for myself and attached a garment pin on back to wear on my sweater tomorrow

Pecan pie cooling on the counter for tomorrow's lunch

And some orange peels, cloves, and cinnamon sticks simmering on the stove to give the house that wonderful holiday smell

We moved the mattresses from both beds onto the living room floor on Saturday night and have been camping out under the tree reading Christmas books before nodding off every night. Some of our favorite books this year are: The Story of Mary (a boardbook) by Patricia A. Pingry, The Gingerbread Boy (a boardbook) by Kathy Wilburn, Christmas in the Barn by Margaret Wise Brown, and Is it Christmas? by John Prater.

(Sorry it's so dark- I didn't want to turn the light on and ruin the calm atmosphere)

Our calendar is all crossed off and the only thing left to do is try to sleep!
 Merry Christmas Everyone!
